Row 1.) Ch 40, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 4 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch, dc in next 6 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch, dc in next 10 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch, dc in next 6 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch, dc in last 6 ch. Ch 2, turn. (6,6,10,6,6)
Rows 2.-5.) Dc in each dc an (dc, ch 1, dc) in each ch 1 sp. at end of each row ch 2, turn.
Row 6.) (You can change color on this row if you like.) Dc in each dc and 1 dc in ch 1 sp, skip 1st st, shell (2dc, ch 1, 2dc) in next st,* skip 2 st, shell in next st, * repeat 3 more times, ch 1, sk 2, dc in ch 1 sp and each dc across to next ch 1 sp, dc in ch 1 sp, ch 1, sk 1 st,* shell in next st, sk 2 st,* repeat 4 more times, ch 1, dc in ch 1 sp and all dc to the end, ch 1, turn.
Row 7.) Sc in each st to first ch 1 sp, ch 3, skip 5 shells, sc in the next ch 1 sp, sc in each st to the next ch 1 sp, ch 3, skip 5 shells, sc in next ch 1 sp and in each st to the end. ch 2, turn.
Row 8.) Ch 2 counts as dc,* sk 2 st, shell in next st,* repeat 3 times, shell in center st of ch 3, repeat this across to end. (dc, 18 shells, dc).
Rows 9.-10.) Repeat Row 8.
Row 11.) Trim Row - Ch 1, sc in first dc, 5 dc in center of each shell, sc between each shell, repeat across, sc in last st, ch 1 2 sc in each sp up the front, 3 sc in corner st, sc in each st around the neck, 3 sc in the corner, 2 sc in next dc, ch 3 (buttonhole), 2 sc in each dc down the front side, sl st to beginning st. End off. Weave in all ends and attach a button.
